Courtney Kimbrough
Welcome !!!
To most mathematics is the subject that is least liked and that is very difficult to understand. Most of these people share common experiences that have lead them to believe that mathematics is an unobtainable obstacle that is not a necessity of everyday life. One of my main goals as a teacher is to not only teach math , but to educate my students on why math matters. I love combining technology and other core subjects into my teaching. I will strive to create passion for learning in my students. By doing this I can only hope my students grasp not only the technique but the enjoyment of mathematics as well.
The UTeach program at the University of Texas at Tyler has taught me to set high expectations for myself, and as a teacher I will set high expectations for my students. It is very important for me to exhibit positive behavior and good moral judgement to my student. I will strive to be a leader and always follow state and school rules. I will also try my best to provide a comfortable learning environment. I want every student to set goals and surpass them in my classroom. I want to make every student comfortable, and not only grow in mathematics but as a person in general. Although this is only a small portion of my work, I hope you will see my passion through this collection. In each tab you will find different examples on how i connect real life with mathematics. I have collect several artifacts over the course of my clinical teaching experience , and I am honored to share them wit you. Also to the left you will find my cover letter, resume and unofficial transcript. Thanks, Courtney Kimbrough |
